In December of 2013, a renovation of Moody Coliseum was completed to the arena that has been the home of SMU basketball since December of 1956.

“Moody Magic” has become a popular term regarding SMU’s play at the Coliseum. From 1956 through 2013, SMU men’s basketball was 510-261 (.661) in Moody Coliseum as the Mustangs captured nine conference titles. Since the renovation, SMU has lost only 4 games in Moody Coliseum (60-4 record) over 4 seasons, has set season ticket holder records the last two seasons and has clinched American Athletic Conference championships in Moody two of the last three seasons.

Moody Coliseum was voted the best sports venue in Dallas by D Magazine over AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks and Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers.
